The Friends of Moreletakloof have developed a sensory trail through the Moreletakloof Nature Reserve in Pretoria East. This will include accessible hiking trails to proposed birdhides and a beautiful walkway along the Moreleta Spruit and is the dream of Jeannie du Plessis, a long term and passionate member of the Friends of Moreletakloof who regularly runs at the Kloof.

In February the concept was announced to the media and other interested parties. Radio Jakaranda have pledged their full support, including it as one of their charities. Chris Patton from SANParks gave a presentation showing how far SANParks have come in providing accessible facilities, and how they overcame similar obstacles.  Nature Conservation owns the property and, although they have no funding to support the project, they are keen to see it being used and developed in this way.

The project will include about 2.5 km of accessible pathways with varying gradients and surfaces, accessible bird hides, toilet facilities and pathways through the forest and along the banks of the Spruit and should open by the end of 2011.
