The owner of a game ranch contacted us about the father of one of his employees who needed a below knee prosthesis.

To make a long story short: this translated into a free weekend away for our staff in exchange for a prosthesis,  and believe me, everybody was game!

The biggest challenge was exchanging the comfort and functionality of our fully equipped and modern laboratory for an open bush lapa with only a generator.

We had to plan the manufacturing very carefully, keeping in mind that hand tools would be the weapons of choice.

Armed with a list of instructions, the farmer made sure that the patient's stump was well coned and we were updated with MMS photos regularly - so we had a very good idea of what we could expect.

The pictures tell the story, giving new meaning to the words "'n boer maak 'n plan."
